The Claims
This class action was started in British Columbia, concerning an alleged concealed and dangerous defect in the defendants’ “4xe” series of vehicles, which are plug-in hybrid electric versions of the defendants’ popular Jeep-brand models.
The claim alleges that the Subject Vehicles, being the hybrid Jeep Wrangler 4xe (2020-2025) and hybrid Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe (2022-2026), have a dangerous and defective high-voltage hybrid battery system that can cause, and has caused, deadly vehicle fires. Fires can occur while a Subject Vehicle is driving or parked, regardless of whether the vehicle is turned.
The Class
All persons in Canada, excluding residents of Quebec, who are or were owners of the Subject Vehicles.
