Helping survivors across Ontario pursue justice through individual and multi-victim claims, including courts, tribunals, and alternative dispute resolution.
Survivor-Centred Legal Support
Rochon Genova represents survivors of sexual assault, physical assault, institutional abuse, historical abuse, elder abuse, intimate partner and family violence, mental cruelty, and the unauthorized distribution of intimate images. We act for clients across Ontario in both individual and multi-victim cases, helping survivors pursue justice through the courts, tribunals, and alternative dispute resolution processes.
The practice is led by Michael Wilchesky, an experienced litigator who has represented abuse survivors in hundreds of cases, including some of the most complex institutional and multi-victim claims in the province. Michael has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Divisional Court, Court of Appeal, Federal Court, and the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board, and has acted for survivors through the Independent Assessment Process for Indian Residential Schools.
Michael works with a dedicated team that combines extensive litigation experience with a trauma-informed, survivor-centred approach, ensuring that each client’s needs, goals, and circumstances guide every step of the process.
Our team understands that pursuing a legal claim is an intensely personal and emotionally challenging process. A trauma-informed approach is central to this practice. This includes, among other things:
Our goal is to empower survivors; not pressure them. We always strive to support informed decision-making and to honour each client’s unique healing process.
