Biography

Sophie is an associate working primarily with the class action team. She rejoins Rochon Genova after clerking at the Superior Court of Justice, having also previously summered with the firm. She completed her J.D. at the University of Victoria, seeking reprieve from the ‘big city’ after growing up in its west end and obtaining a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto.

During law school, Sophie received numerous awards for her excellence both in academics and extracurricular service. She participated in the Wilson Moot, was an executive of UVic’s law journal – Appeal, completed a clinical term with The Law Centre, and worked both as a research assistant and a tutor for first year law students. She also spent a summer on the West Coast working at a leading union-side firm in Vancouver.

Through these experiences, and others, Sophie passionately advocated for collective rights, civil liberties, and access to justice. She is thrilled to continue to fight for the causes she believes in alongside the Rochon Genova team.
