Rabita Sharfuddin

Overview

Rabita Sharfuddin is an associate in Rochon Genova’s class actions practice group. She has experience litigating complex consumer protection, product liability, securities, and negligence class actions, and regularly appears before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. She has also assisted with matters before the Court of Appeal for Ontario.

Rabita’s practice also includes experience with internal investigations and proceedings before the Ontario Securities Commission and the British Columbia Securities Commission. In addition, she has represented clients in professional disciplinary proceedings. Before joining Rochon Genova, she practised at two national full-service law firms, where she represented corporations, directors and officers, and individuals in commercial disputes.

Rabita is passionate about access to justice and remains actively involved in mentorship and pro bono work. She volunteers with the Pro Bono Ontario Free Legal Advice Hotline and serves as a mentor at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law at Toronto Metropolitan University. She is also a member of the South Asian Bar Association, The Advocates’ Society, and Young Women in Law.

Rabita was called to the Ontario bar in 2019. She holds a Juris Doctor (cum laude) from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Public Affairs and Policy Management from Carleton University.
