Overview
Rana Ghafouri is an Associate at Rochon Genova. She summered and articled at the firm while completing her Juris Doctor at the University of Toronto. Throughout her time at the firm, Rana has worked on a number of class action matters, including cases involving institutional abuse, pharmaceutical and product liability, and securities issues.
During law school, Rana was actively involved in student leadership and developed a broad range of legal and academic experience. She served as Senior Publications Editor for the University of Toronto Faculty of Law Review, as Clinic Manager for Artists’ Legal Advice Services, and as Co-President of the Legal Innovation and Technology Group.
Rana also completed internships with Innocence Canada, where she worked on matters involving wrongful convictions, and with the Health Law, Innovation, and Policy Lab at Sinai Health, where she focused on legal research and contract drafting in the health law context. These experiences contributed to her strong interest in advocacy, policy, and access to justice.
Before law school, Rana earned a Master of Science in Neuroscience from McGill University and an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biology & Psychology, Neuroscience and Behaviour from McMaster University. She previously worked as a Research Associate at EVERSANA, advising pharmaceutical and medical device companies on market access and health economics. She brings to her legal practice an interdisciplinary background, strong research and writing skills, and a commitment to advancing access to justice.
