Sophie Chase

Overview

Sophie Chase is an associate at Rochon Genova whose practice is focused primarily on class actions. She returned to the firm after clerking at the Superior Court of Justice, having also previously summered with Rochon Genova.

Sophie brings to her practice a strong commitment to collective rights, civil liberties, and access to justice. Before beginning her legal career, she earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto with high distinction. She then completed her Juris Doctor at the University of Victoria, where she distinguished herself academically and through significant extracurricular and clinical involvement.

During law school, Sophie received numerous awards for academic excellence and service. She participated in the Wilson Moot, served as an executive of Appeal, UVic’s law journal, completed a clinical term with The Law Centre, and worked as both a research assistant and a tutor for first-year law students. She also gained additional experience on the West Coast while working at a leading union-side firm in Vancouver.

These experiences helped shape Sophie’s advocacy-oriented practice and reinforced her dedication to pursuing meaningful access to justice. She is proud to continue that work as part of Rochon Genova’s class actions team.
