Vincent Genova

Overview

Vincent Genova is a founding partner of Rochon Genova and an experienced litigator whose practice spans personal injury, class actions, disability litigation, aviation law, municipal liability, automobile litigation, and insurance-related disputes. He has particular expertise in catastrophic and personal injury litigation, acting in matters ranging from fatality claims and serious brain and spinal cord injuries to chronic pain cases.

Vincent also leads the firm’s aviation law group, where he works with a team of lawyers to represent plane crash victims and their families. In addition to his plaintiff-side practice, he has also defended national class actions in Ontario, British Columbia, and Alberta on behalf of a major Canadian payday loan company, giving him broad experience across complex litigation from multiple perspectives.

A graduate of the University of Toronto and the University of Western Ontario Faculty of Law, Vincent was called to the Ontario bar in 1989. He later continued his legal education at Harvard Law School through its Advanced Mediation Workshop. Over the course of his career, he has developed a reputation for leadership in the profession, courtroom advocacy, and practical litigation experience.

Vincent obtained the designation of Certified Specialist (Civil Litigation) in 2003. He also served as a Deputy Judge of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Small Claims Division, from 2005 to 2015, and taught civil procedure for three years as an adjunct professor at Osgoode Hall Law School. He has chaired legal conferences, instructed at the Bar Admission Course, presented on insurance issues, and appeared in broadcast media to discuss legal cases and issues. Vincent is fluent in English and Italian and is currently learning Spanish.
